High School Teaching and Mentorship

Columbia Secondary School is a diverse, selective, and underfunded public high school located at 123rd (between Amsterdam Ave and Morningside Dr). Columbia University has a long-standing relationship with CSS—which started as the lab school for Teachers College. History in Action is seeking graduate students to help us build a partnership between the Department and the School’s history teachers. Graduate students will work with CSS teachers and students to enrich the high school history offerings at CSS. The expected commitment is 12 hours over Fall and Spring semesters. Stipends will support students’ year-long participation. Email Manan Ahmed (ma3179@columbia.edu) and historyinaction@columbia.edu to get involved.
